Social Welfare department of BIRDEM started functioning since the inception of BADAS in 1956, with the following assignment-
- To help the poor & destitute diabetic patients.
- To rehabilitate the young diabetic patients.
Till 30 June 2022 number of registered diabetic patients is 659878 out of which Social welfare department of BIRDEM helping 75423 poor diabetic patients. We are regularly monitoring and updating the guidebook so that only deserving poor people gets priority in case of subsidized/ free treatment.
Our routine educational and emotional support, counseling, motivation and follow-up activities are carried out to improve the quality life of the poor diabetic patients.
