- Clinical facilities provided:
- Continuous Cardiac, Respiratory, Pulse oximetry & Capnography monitoring.
- Mechanical ventilators: 10 (Puritan & Banet- 840), 9 (wide spread solution/Event)
- Noninvasive positive pressure ventilation by one handheld BiPAP machine.
- Three Emergency Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Trolleys (2 in ICU + 1 in HDU) equipped with two Defibrillators (one ICU & one in HDU)
- Syringe pumps & Infusion pumps.
- Central Venous Pressure & Arterial Blood Pressure monitoring, PCWP monitoring.
- IPD &CAPD
- Bedside Hemodialysis (HD machine) with RO machine & SLED (Sustained low efficiency HD)
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and Plasma pheresis.
- 24 hours ABG with dedicated ABG machine
- CCTV (13) camera placed in the patient care area (ICU) to monitor patient care by Nurses.
- Bed side Bronchoscopy for Bronchoalveolar lavage
- Bedside Ultrasonogram.
- Bedside portable X-ray
- Four doctors (three doctors for covid & one doctor for non covid) on duty round the clock. ( six doctors round the clock before covid)
- Floor 8th -81 ward was temporarily used as “suspected &Covid ICU” during June (11th – 23rd JUNE), 2020(outbreak of Covid 19 pandemic).
- 7th floor CCM department converted as “Suspected & confirmed Covid ICU” (16 Covid ICU bed) declared on 24th June, 2020 & doffing room was initiated as pantry room of seventh floor & HDU used as non Covid ICU since June 24,2020.
- ward 72 converted to Extension ICU with three vent and three HFNC on 27th February 0n 2021
- Academic facilities:
- ICU Library stocked with text books and lecture CDs on Critical Care Medicine and other clinical specialties. Total number of volumes of books: 250 (Approx.)
- Library / Conference room equipped with TV, DVD, Video and Slide projector, One computer terminal. It has a seating capacity of 25participants.
- New library over the duty doctors Desk with 11books
- Eleven (11) computer terminals in individual offices.
- Computer terminal with printer in patient care area for data processing and recordkeeping.
- Internet connection & networking in all Computer terminals Wi-Fifacility.
- Digital camera & Video camera used for Clinical research.
CPR workshop: Two workshop (w161, w162) during this year with total of 67 participants were CPR certified. Only one BLS workshop in March 2022 with total of 26 participants.
- Academic activities:
- Weekly clinical meetings held as part of CME for medical officers, students of MD (CCM), FCPS (Medicine), MRCP and nurses working in ICU.
- Activities include case presentation, lectures, video presentation, and mortalityreview.
- Combined Lecture classes for all MD (CCM) students (BIRDEM Academy, BSMMU, DMC) - Final part and phase B; As a coordinated program

- Joint Secretary of CPD Committee of Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons for the session of 2019 to 2021.
- Trainer of doctors and nurses treating critically ill COVID-19 patients in ICU in different regions of Bangladesh organized by USAID’s MaMoni Maternal and Newborn Care Strengthening Project: Emergency Response to COVID-19 & supported by: ECHO Project, University of New Mexico.
- Served as Expert Panelist in different Scientific programs of Medicine, Critical Care Medicine and Cardiology.
